If you want to become a fluent English speaker you should take some advice: There are four skills in learning English. They are listening, speaking, reading, and writing. The most important thing you must remember is that if you want to improve your speaking and writing skills you should first master (精通 ) the skills of reading and listening.
Read as much as you can. But your reading must be active. It means that you must think  about the meaning of the sentence, the meaning of the unfamiliar words, etc. There is no need for you to pay much attention to grammars or try to understand all the unfamiliar words you come across, but the fact that you see them for the first time and recognize them whenever you see them, for example, in other passages or books, is enough. It would be better to prepare yourself a notebook so you can write down the important words or sentences in it.
As for listening, there are two choices: besides reading, you can listen every day for about 30 minutes. You can only pay attention to your reading and become skillful at your reading, then you can catch up on your listening. Since you have lots of inputs (输入 ) in your Mind, you can easily guess what the speaker is going to say. This never means that you should not practise listening.
For listening you can listen to cartoons or some movies that are specially made for children. Their languages are easy. Or if you are good at listening you can listen to VOA or BBC programs every day. Again the thing to remember is being active in listening and preferably(更适合) taking some notes.
If you follow these pieces of advice, your speaking and writing will improve automatically (自动地 ), and you can be sure that with a little effort they will become perfect.

阅读短文,根据要求完成下面各小题。
In a classroom in any countries , the teachers teaches more than art or history or language. He or she teaches something behind---the culture of the country.
In a country such as the United States, people with different history, culture and language join together and the pay much attention to personal ideas. Teachers try to make each student special. Students do not have to remember a lot of information , instead, they work and find answers by themselves. There is often discussion in the classroom..
At an early age students learn to have their own ideas. Their education encourages personal thought.
The importance is placed on how to arrive at an answer and not only to get the correct answer.
In most Asian countries , people have the same language , history and culture. Perhaps for this reason , the education there pays more attention to group goals than person ideas. Children in China and Japan often work together and help each other on homework. In the classroom, the ways of teaching are often very traditional. The teachers says , and the students listen. There is not much discussion. Instead , the students repeat rules or information that they have been taught in order to keep them in mind .
In many ways these differences come from different educational ideas. In western countries teachers are taught to help students to learn. They make it easier for the students to learn by themselves. In some Asian countries , however , teachers often feel that their job is to pass knowledge to students.

We all have problems. If we can’t deal with our problems, we will become unhappy easily.
Worry about our problems can affect what we do at school. It can also influence the way we get along with our families at home. Here are some ways to deal with our problems.
l By learning to forget.
Most of us have probably been angry with our friends, parents or teachers. Perhaps they said something you didn’t like, or you felt they were about a small problem. When we are angry, we are usually the ones affected. However, this usually does not last for long. We can solve a problem by learning to forget.
l By regarding problems as challenges
Many students often complain(抱怨) about school. They might feel they have too much work to do or think the rules are too strict. We must learn how to change these “problems” into “challenges”. As young people , it is our duty to try to deal with each challenge in our education with the help of our teachers.
l By thinking of something worse
By comparing (比较)yourself to other people, you will find your problems are not so terrible. Think about Stephen Hawking, a very clever scientist. He can’t walk or even speak, but he has become very famous and successful. We are probably quite healthy and smart. Let’s not worry about problems. Let’s face the challenges instead.

小题3:It’s__________ _________ to try our best to deal with challenges in our education.
