积土成山,风雨兴焉；积水成渊,蛟龙生焉,；积善成德,而神明自得,圣心备焉,故不积跬步.无以至千里；不积小流,无以成江海.驽马十驾,功在不舍,无以至千里；骐骥一跃,不能十步；锲而舍之,朽木不折；锲而不舍,金石可镂.

堆土成山,风雨就从那里兴起；水流汇成深渊,蛟龙就在那里生长；积累善行,形成良好的品德,就会得到最高的智慧,具备圣人的思想境界.所以,不积累每一小步,就不能远达千里；不汇集细流,就不能形成江海.骏马跳跃一次,不能有十步远；劣马拉车走十天,也能走得很远,它的成功在于不停止.拿刀刻东西,中途停止,腐朽的木头也不能刻断；不停地刻下去,金石也能雕刻成功.
