（有一年）子夏被派到莒父去做地方官.（临走之前他专门去拜望老师）,向孔子请教怎样才能治理好一个地方呢?
孔子说：“做事不要单纯追求速度,不要贪图小利.单纯追求速度,不讲效果,反而达不到目的；只顾眼前小利,不讲长远利益,那就什么大事也做不成.”

In some year, Zi Xia was pointed to be a local official of Jufu. Befor he left to there, he turned to his teacher Confucius for instruction how to manage an area?
Confucius said: "Don't just care about speed and small benifits when doing something. You can't reach the object if you just care about speed, but don't consider the effect; you will gain nothing if you just care about the present small benifits, but don't care about the long term results.
