He found that he had had a visitor.Someone had broken into his house.The man had had a drink,smoked several of Tom's cigarettes,and had read his story.The visitor left Tom a note:
“I have read your story and I don't think much of it.Please read my suggestions and then you can finish it.By the way,i am a burglar,and I am not going to steal anything tonight.But if you become a successful writer,i will return!”
Tom read the burglar's suggestions.Then he sat down and wrote the rest of the story.He is still not a successful writer,and he is waiting for his burglar to return.Before he goes out in the evening,he always leaves a half-finished story near his type-writer.
有的其实我会翻译,但是还是不确定.
而且有些不会翻译.

他发现家里有个不速之客,有人闯进了他额度房子.那男人喝了点酒,抽了几根汤姆的烟,读了他的小说.这位不速之客给汤姆留恋张便条：
“我读了你的小说,觉得不怎么样.请读读我的意见,然后你就能写完了顺便说一下,我是个盗贼,但今晚不准备偷任何东西.但是若你成了成功作家,我会回来的!”
汤姆请读勒纳盗贼的意见,然后完成了小说.他仍不是个成功的作家,但他在等那个盗贼回来.晚上出门时,总是会在他的打字机旁留一份未完成的小说.
