A randomized complete block design was employed in the
field with water-application regimes (high, medium, low, and
zero) stripped across rows of white clover entries (four repliIn
cates of each entry). The significance of the water-application
regime 3 entry interaction was tested by conducting a combined
analysis for a split-plot arrangement with white clover
entries as whole-plots and water-application regimes in nonture
replicated strips as subplots. The stripping of water-application
regimes across white clover entries precluded significance tests
for the main effects of water-application. Data for each year
were analyzed separately because of significant (P # 0.05)
year 3 entry interactions. Entry means were separated with
Fisher’s protected least significant difference (LSD, P # 0.05
except where noted).
