阅读理解。     Of course you don"t want to be sick in your vacation. So what can you do while traveling? There are
three things you should remember: relax, sleep and eat well.
A vacation is a time for relaxing, but very often it is not. Think about what you do when you are a tourist.
There are so many places to visit: shop, parks, churches and temples (寺庙). You may spend most of the
days walking around these places. This can be very tiring. Do not ask your body to do too much. A tired body
means a weak body. A weak body gets sick easily. So sit down for a few hours in a nice place. In good
weather, look for a quiet park bench.
Sleep is also important. If you want to stay healthy, you need to get enough sleep. Your hotel room may
be noisy, or the bed may be too hard. Or you may want to stay out late at night. Then you should plan to sleep
for an hour during the day. The extra hour can make a big difference.
Finally, if you want to stay healthy, you must eat well. That means eating the right kinds of food. Your
body needs fresh fruit, vegetables, meat milk and cheese.
So, remember this: if you want to enjoy your vacation, take good care of yourself. Give your body some
rest. Get enough sleep and eat healthy food. 1. You should ______ while traveling.  A. eat well
B. walk all the time
C. do shopping
D. ask your body to do a lot.2. Traveling is usually ______. A. easy
B. noisy
C. tiring
D. dangerous 3. You must ______ to enjoy your traveling. A. visit parks
B. stay healthy
C. go to churches and temples
D. sit down for a few hours 4. The underlined word "extra" means ______ here. A. one more
B. more than one
C. usual
D. different 5. The text tells us ______ in traveling. A. how to rest

Dear sir,
I got married forty years ago. Unfortunately, at that time there was a lot of unemployment and I got no
job. I was out of work for about six months before I got another one. Of course I was very short of
money.
I came to your shop to buy a wedding ring one day. The assistant brought some rings for me to have a
look, later she was called away for a moment, and then I put one of the rings into my pocket. When she
came back, I said I did not know the size of my girlfriend"s finger. So I left the shop with the ring but I did
n"t pay for it. My wife died a month ago, and the fact that I never paid for her ring has been on my
conscience (让我良心不安) all these years. I always feel guilty about that. At that time the ring cost $100,
and I think that is about ten times at today"s price.
Now, I am sending you that amount.
                                                                                                                                      Yours truly,
                                                                                                                                      A customer

Dear Malia and Sasha,
I know that you"ve both had a lot of fun these two years. You have been to many picnics and had all
kinds of junk food your mother and I probably shouldn"t have let you eat. But I also know that it hasn"t
always been easy for you and Mom. So now I want to tell you a little more about why I decided to take our
family on this journey.
When I was a young man, I thought life was all about me-about how I"d make my way in the world,
become successful, and get the things I want. But then the two of you came into my world with those
smiles and suddenly, all my big plans didn"t seem so important any more. I soon found that the greatest
happiness in my life was that you were so happy. And 1 realized that my own life wouldn"t mean much if
I couldn"t make you two happy. In the end, girls, I ran for (竞选) President: because of what I want for you
and for every child in the US.
I want all our children to go to school so that they can learn and grow. I want them to have the chance
to go to college-even though their parents don"t have enough money. And I want them to get good jobs.
I want us to see new technologies and inventions that improve our lives and make our earth cleaner and
safer. And I want us to see no difference of different colors and areas because we are all equal (平等的).
I hope both of you will start to give others the chances you"ve had. You know, this country has given
our family so much, so you have to, and really should, give something back. When you are doing something
larger than yourself, you will realize how helpful you are.
These are the things I want for you-to grow up in a world in which you can make your dreams come
true. And I want every child to have the same chances to learn and dream and grow and get what you girls
have. That"s why I"ve taken our family on this great adventure.
I am so proud of you. I love you more than you can ever know. And I am thankful every day because
you behave so well when we get ready to start our new life together in the White House.
