Among the list of disadvantages of incorporation is the cost.Not surprisingly,forming a corporation is more expensive than forming a sole proprietorship or a partnership.For one thing,corporations are heavily regulated,and incorporation entails meeting the complex legal requirements of the country in which the firm is chartered.
Double Taxatior:
The greatest potential drawback to corporate organization,however,is double taxation.First,a regular corporation must pay income taxes on company profits.In addition,stockholders must pay taxes on income returned by their investments in the corporation.In contrast,because profits are treated as owner’s personal income,sole proprietorships and partnerships are taxed only once.
