1.would → should 或 去掉would
insist表示“坚持要求”时,后面的宾语从句必须使用虚拟语气,即从句谓语动词由“(should) + 动词原形”构成,其中should还可以省略
2.to tell → (in) telling
固定搭配：spend some time (in) doing sth 花费多少时间做某事
3.在help me后面加上with
定语从句的关系代词which相当于先行词some problems.在定语从句中充当介词with的宾语,已构成固定短语：help sb with sth
4.main → mainly
用副词mainly来修饰状语从句because I was sick,对应前句中的partly
5.upset → upsetting
固定短语：prevent sb (from) doing sth 预防某人做某事
6.在already后面加上have
should already have = should already have stopped to think about the matter
从句意来看,应该用固定结构:should have done sth 本应该早就做某事
7.suggest → suggested；will → should 或 省略will
解释同第1题,suggest的宾语从句即be suggested的主语从句必须使用虚拟语气,即从句谓语动词由“(should) + 动词原形”构成,其中should可以省略
8.that → which
非限制性定语从句中不能用that作为指物的关系代词,但是可以用which.
此题中的which = the war
9.how → in which 或 how → that 或 省略how
the way作为先行词,并且其后的定语从句缺少方式状语即 in the way时,则关系代词可以选用in which或that或不用任何关系代词
