Although everybody knows about the need to switch off the lights, it is done all for the sake of reducing the power ill. Actually, with every degree of electricity saved,400 gram less coal will be consumed while 2000 gram less carbon dioxide and 30 gram less sulphuric dioxide will be released. So, the advantage of switching off the lights is not limited to just saving a little bit of the fuel charges.
