HIGH-JUMPER and punk rocker Kimi Qiao (乔任梁),22,is someone who has always been ambitious (有野心的).In fact,he's something of a big mouth about his talent."No one will ever forget me," said the proud and confident Qiao.
The 2007 My Show (《我型我秀》) winner has recently published Private Life (《私生活》),a photo-book.It records everything about the days of his youth.
As a teenager,he was a keen (热切的) athlete,training every weekend and holiday.His event was the high jump and he could jump his own height,1.80m.He won a number of national championships.He even shared a coach with Liu Xiang.
However,Qiao's parents wanted him to focus on his studies and he finally went to a university in his city.
It was during this time he became interested in music.When he was 18,he took part in a singing contest,where he met his idol Wang Lee-hom.Later,he started a student band called Pink17,for which he drummed.The band performed in basements (地下室) and attics (阁楼).
From this point Qiao knew that music would be his life."Without music the world would be colorless," said Qiao.
Today he's still a dreamer.He wants to make punk (朋克) rock popular in China."Although I've only been into it for a year,I'll do my bit to make it big," he said.
