If asked to name my favorite holiday,my choice would be the Chinese New Year,which is more commonly known as the Spring Festival.It has been my favorite holiday since my childhood.As a child,I associated the festival with new clothes,delicious feast,and a happy family reunion.Of couse,I never should forget to mention the lucky money given by the seniors and other relatives.The lucky money was like a yearly bonus to me,and also my major income source in the childhood,You can imagine the significance of it for me.
However,when I grew up a little,the importance of the lucky money ihas been downplayed.Gradually,I realized the value of the festival lies in the reunion of the family.When I noticed that my grandparents are getting older and older every year,i felt how much they wish to see all the families getting together on this occasion.Moreover,I now understand why the millions of migrant workers in China are willing to spend days in the cold weather,just to get a train ticket home.
The spring Festiive is still my favorite holiday,but my liking to it has changed.
