Thank you for your email. Now I would like to tell you something about the extracurricular reading in our school. I’m sorry to say that most of the students in our school haven’t realized the importance of reading, especially extracurricular reading, as a result, the time and energy students devoted to reading are very limited. Besides, some students prefer to read cartoons, magazines and newspapers rather than classic reading materials.
I think the reasons behind that are various. First of all, quite a lot of students are burdened with too much homework. Still others haven’t formed a habit of reading. They would rather spend their spare time on TV or on the Internet.
However, reading has many benefits. Through reading we can learn more about the world. Reading can help us think better and make our life more colorful. So it is quite necessary for the students to take up reading and for the teachers to limit the amount of our homework so that we can have more time to read.
