seat是及物动词,后边需要跟宾语,所以他和sit不及物动词是不一样的.I galnced the man seated on the table=I glanced the man sitting on the table.看出区别了么?再举个例子,tom,sit down= tom,seat youself.sit不用宾语就能表达坐下,但是seat必须要有个宾语,所以会出现 .the man seated.man在这做seat的宾语,...sitting,man在这时候做sit的主语.（主谓关系能理解吧?要是能理解那么你应该能明白这个单词的用法和意思了）
