My Favorite Sweater My favorite sweater grew too small. I love that sweater best of all. My grandma made it when I was three. She made that sweater just for me. I picked the yarn (毛线), a special blue. The color of bluebells, wet with dew (露水). When I was three I was very small. But now I"m five and much too tall. I have a new jacket now that"s green. So I gave my sweater to our cat Queen. Queen just had kittens (小猫) out in the shed. My favorite sweater is now their bed. |

Dear Boris, Thanks for your nice letter. After I had spent a week with my English family, I slowly began to understand their English a little better. It"s very different from what I learned at school! Students in my group are from different cities of Britain and their dialects (方言) are different too! Some of their accents (口音) are quite strong and they also have their own words and expressions. But it"s not the language that"s different and surprising. Before I came to England I had thought that fish and chips were eaten every day. That"s quite wrong! I had expected to see "London fog". Do you remember our texts about it? We had no idea that most of this "thick fog" disappeared many years ago when people stopped using coal in their homes. But the idea to speak about the weather was very helpful. The weather in London is really changeable. On the other hand habits are different. People tell me what is typically British here in London is not always typical in Wales or Scotland. Local habits and traditions are not the same as what we knew. But what is ordinary for all British is that they follow traditions. Probably Britain has more living signs of its past than many other countries. And people have always been proud of having ancient buildings in capitals, big cities and the countryside. I will tell you more about Britain in my other letters. Love from Britain, Peter |

A team of 5 Endon High School students-Dan, Charlie, Joe, Josh and Nathan joined BBC Radio Stoke"s Online team to build the School Day website. Here"s what Joe said about working on the"BBC Radio Stoke School Day" website. Today has been a great day for me! I have been working since a quarter past eight. This morning I got up really early. At half past six, I got dressed and ate my breakfast. I was so nervous that I messed up. When I got here I started taking pictures of Janine"s show. Later the man from The Sentinel came to take our pictures (I have never had my pictures taken so much!). I made two web pages. Jonathan, Becky and Kristin were on the online team. They were great for help and organization (组织). I have put lots of pictures into the "BBC Radio Stoke School Day" gallery which was very interesting. I have learnt how to take photos properly. The most enjoyable thing about today is seeing my work on the BBC Radio Stoke website. It is very interesting and enjoyable. |
