阅读理解。     Sometimes,  people are not clear about what kind of food is healthy and what kind of food may do
harm to our health. The USDA has prepared a food guide to help people learn about which kind of food
is the  healthiest to eat.  The food guide describes six main food groups: meat  (like fish and chicken),
dairy (like milk and cheese), grains (like bread and rice), fruit, and vegetables. The last group is fats and
sweets.  The USDA also suggests how much of each food group is healthy   to eat daily. Though this
guide was prepared by the US government, it  is very useful for people all over the world.
     (1) As a result of years of study, we know that too much animal  fat is bad for our health.  For
example,  Americans eat a lot of meat and  only a small amount (量) of grains, fruit and vegetables.
Because of  the way they eat, they have a high rate (率) of cancer and heart disease.  In Japan,
people eat large amounts of grains and very little meat.  The Japanese also have a very low rate of
cancer and heart disease.  The  Japanese live longer than anyone else in the world.  However,  when
Japanese people move to the US, the rate of heart disease and cancer goes  up as their eating habit
changes. And as hamburgers, ice creams and  other high-fat foods become popular in Japan, the rate
of heart disease  and cancer is going up there as well.   (2)  People are also eating more  meat and
dairy food in other countries. In those countries the disease  rate is going up with the change of people"s
eating habit.
Doctors everywhere suggest people eat more grains, fruit and vegetables and less meat
and dairy food.
     (3) Eating healthily is important for children as well as their parents. When parents have poor eating
habits, their children usually do, too. After all, children eat the same way as their parents. When parents
eat healthy food,  the children will learn to enjoy it,  too.  Then they will develop good eating habits.
Doctors suggest parents give their children healthier food such as fruit, vegetables and juice.
Everyone wants to live a long,  healthy life.  We know that the food we eat affects (影响) us in
different ways.  For example, doctors believe that fruit and vegetables can really protect people from
many different diseases.  On the other hand, animal fat can cause (引起) diseases. We can change our
eating habits now and enjoy many years of healthy living. 1. 将(1)处的句子翻译成汉语。
    _________________________________________________
2. 将(2)处的句子改写为含定语从句的句子。
    _________________________________________________
3. 将(3)处的句子改写成同义句。

There has been a new trend in food recently-people are becoming not interested in fast food and
beginning taking an interest in eating "slow food".
For many years, the pace of life has been increasing for most people. Buying, preparing and cleaning
up after a meal was becoming a big trouble for those busy people. Luckily , there were smart business
people who took the opportunity to provide "instant" solutions to the problem. They opened fast food
restaurants. Almost overnight, you could go to the fast food restaurant, order your food and within 2
minutes it will be handed over to your hands.
The problem is health. Fast food has much oil, salt and more calories and far fewer vitamins than
food freshly cooked at home. And so , since people have always wanted to live longer and healthier, a
small but growing population is choosing not only fresh food, but also organic food (有机食品) —food
that hasn"t been grown with chemical fertilizers (化学肥料).
Another reason for changes in eating habits is the society. Over the centuries, meal times have been
used to visit, laugh and learn. That doesn"t fit with today"s busy life and many people are looking for ways
to restore (恢复) that. Goodbye McDonald"s.
Finally, there"s something special about planning your meal, buying just the right ingredient (配料)
and seeing something on your table that looks just like the picture inyour recipe book (食谱书). So if
you"re too busy, maybe it"s time for you to slow down and enjoy ameal with a friend.

Our world has been for many year and throughout all those years we have used the sun for energy
needs. So why not use the energy to our homes or our cars? Many scientists have changed forms of
energy called "Green Energy". Green power is the solution to creating a cleaner, sustainable energy
system. Renewable (可重复的)energy—from the sun, wind ,plants and moving water—is a natural way
to meet our energy needs and protect the environment.
Solar (太阳的) energy is a very useful resource today. 80% of the energy we use comes from fossil
fuels (化石燃料) and about 1 % comes from solar energy. Fossil fuels are nonrenewable, that means
that they are used up faster than they could be replaced. Also fossil fuels are limited and cause pollution.
They are the primary cause for air pollution that causes acid rain (酸雨) and global warming. The good
thing about solar energy is that it is renewable because it is always replaced. Also solar energy does not
pollute the environment.
The energy problem is an important problem in the United States. Solar energy can help solve this
problem. But the cost is far too great.
1. The underlined word "natural"  means _______ in Chinese.
A. 有用的

A. 80%
B. 1%
C. 81%
D. 79%
3. _______ can make much pollution.
A. Wind energy
B. Green energy
C. Solar energy
D. Fossil fuels
4. What is NOT TRUE about the solar energy?
A. Solar energy is a very useful energy.
B. Solar energy is renewable and replaced.
C. Solar energy can pollute the environment.
D. Solar energy can help solve energy problem in America.
5. Which is the best title for the passage?
A. Solar Energy
B. Fossil Fuels
C. Our World"s Energy
D. Energy Problem
