People in Shanghai have tried their best to make Shanghai as clean, friendly and beautiful as possible to welcome visitors from all over the world. There will be about 200 countries, international organizations and 70 million visitors from both China and foreign countries in the Expo. The theme of Expo 2010 is "Better City, Better Life". Fifty-five percent of the world population will live in cities by the year 2010. The Expo 2010 is the first World Expo that has the theme of "city". It hopes to make people pay more attention to living a city life which is better for the environment. Please try not to go on peak days (高峰日) if you want to enjoy yourself more because it will be terribly crowded there. Peak days are "May Day" Holiday which is from May 1st to 3rd, "National Day" Holiday which is from October 1st to 7th and the last week before the closing date. The price for Expo 2010 tickets on a standard day (平日) is RMB 160, however, it"s 40 yuan more expensive for a ticket on a peak day. If you buy a ticket now before the Expo opens, it can be ten yuan cheaper. You can also get evening tickets which only cost 90 yuan. If you want to go to the Expo a few times and have a good look, you can get three-day and seven-day passes which are much more expensive, 400 yuan and 900 yuan. However, you won"t be able to get them before the Expo opens. |
