One effective way of destroying happiness is to look at something and focus on even the smallest fault. It’s like looking at the tiled(铺瓦的)ceiling and concentrating on the space where one tile is     .
Once I heard a bald man said, “whenever I enter a room      I see is hair.” Once you’ve     what your missing tile is, explore whether acquiring it will     make you happy. Then do one of the three things: get it, replace it with a different     , or forget about it and      the tiles in your life that are not missing.
We all know people who have a relatively      life, yet are essentially unhappy. while people who have suffered a great deal but     remain happy.
The first      is gratitude. All happy people are      . Ungrateful people cannot be happy. We tend to think that being unhappy leads people to      , but it’s truer to say that complaining leads to people becoming unhappy.
The second secret is      that happiness is a byproduct of something else. The most obvious      are those pursuit that give our lives purpose — anything     studying insects to playing baseball. The more passions we have, the more happiness we are     to experience.
Finally, the belief that something permanent goes beyond us and that our     has some larger meaning can help us to feel happier. We       a spiritual faith, or a philosophy, it should     this truth: if you choose to find the  in every situation, you will be blessed, and if you choose to find the awful, you will be cursed. As with happiness itself, this is     your decision to make.

When I first told people I was going to work in Cameroon, the most common reaction was: “Why?” The second was: “It’s in Africa; you’ll die!” The third: “Where is that?”
So let me give some answers. I was offered a job that looked interesting in a part of the world I’d never been to before. I’d also long had an interest in Africa, so I decided it was time to find out the reality.
A small amount of research showed that in more than 40 years since gaining independence, Cameroon has been a peaceful country with no wars. Not only are there no wars, but Cameroon is a food exporter to the region.
Now, after three years, I can say that these have been the healthiest years of my life! No malaria or any of the other frightening diseases you read about when Africa is mentioned. The worst thing that ever happened to me was a bout of food poisoning — once.
So what is it like to teach here? Well surprisingly not so different from teaching anywhere else.
Most students come to us with a bit of English in their heads. Cameroon is a bilingual country with French and English as official languages, while there are also close to 200 local ethnic languages in a country of 16 million people. French is the dominant language, spoken by about 80% of the population.
The local school system is very traditional and somewhat strict. Perhaps not surprisingly when there can be up to 150 students in the classroom (of which maybe 30 have the books, and there are probably seats for 70).
Like anywhere else, students appreciate it if you know a bit about their country, and not just Roger Milla (the top scorer of the 1990 World Cup, in case you’re wondering). It helps if you know the names of the ten provinces, know who the first president was, or can say a word in a local language.
So in conclusion: Cameroon isn’t just football. Not is it war, poverty and disease. It’s just life and people, like anywhere else.

Whether in the workplace or on the football field, effective teamwork can produce amazing results. However, working successfully as a team is not as easy as it may seem. Effective teamwork certainly does not just happen automatically; it takes a great deal of hard work and compromise. There are a number of factors that must be in place to make a good team.
Effective leadership is one of the most important factors of good teamwork. The team’s leader should possess the skills to create and preserve a positive working environment and motivate and inspire the team members to take a positive approach to work and be highly committed. An effective team leader will promote a high level of spirit and make them feel supported and valued.
Communication is a vital factor of all interpersonal relationship and especially that of a team. Team members must be able to articulate their feelings, express plans and goals, share ideas and see each other’s opinions.
Conflicts will arise no matter how well a team functions together. The best way to deal with conflicts is to have some organized methods of handling conflicts. Team members should be able to voice their concerns without fear of offending others. Instead of avoiding conflict issues, a hands-on approach that settles them quickly is much better. It is often advised that the team leader sit with the conflicting parties and help work out their differences without taking sides and trying to remain objective if possible.
The team leader must set a good example to create good teamwork. In order to keep team members positive and committed and motivated, the team leader himself needs to show these qualities. The team turns to the leader for support and guidance. So any negative words or behaviors on the leader’s part can be disastrous.
Regardless of what type of work you are in, knowing how to effectively work on and with a team is going to be extremely important to your success and that of your team.

Yawning sends out certain messages -either “Oh,this movie is so boring” or “I probably need to get some sleep”. But did you know that a yawn can also help your brain to cool down when it is overheated?
A new study, led by a research team at Princeton University, has indicated that yawning could be the brain’s natural way of regulating temperature. People yawn more often when the temperature outdoors is lower than their body temperature but are less likely to yawn when it is hotter outdoors, according to Sciencedaily. com.
The research team did an experiment on 160 people, 80 in summer and 80 in winter, to examine how often they yawned at different air temperatures. The study found that people yawned more often in winter than in summer. Scientists say that when the air temperature is lower outside the body, there is heat exchange between the overheated brain and the cool air. But when the air temperature is higher than or equal to the body, people are less likely to yawn because the hot air they breathe in will make the brain even hotter.
When people yawn, their jaw is also stretched, which increases blood flow and may also help cool the brain
The study showed that the amount someone yawned could be related to the amount of time they spent outside. The longer they spent outside in summer, the less they yawned. Nearly 40 percent of participants yawned within their first five minutes outside, but after that the percentage was reduced to less than 10 percent.
However, the result was the opposite in winter. The number of people who yawned increased when they spent more than five minutes outdoors. But the change was only slight compared to summertime.
According to Gallup, this is the first report to show that yawning frequencies change depending on season. This could help us to understand better the way our brains work. It may also help us understand the reason why frequent yawning can sometimes be a sign of brain disease.

On the first day of your Senior High you must meet many new classmates. Do you want to make friends with them? Do you know how to make friends with them? The following article will tell you how to do it.
Making friends is a skill. Like most skills, it improves      practice. If you want to meet people and make friends you must be      to take action. You must first go to places where there are people. You won’t make friends      at home alone. Join a club or group, for talking with those who      the same experience as you is easier, and      them in some activities.
Many people are      when talking to strangers. After all, meeting strangers means facing     , and it’s human nature to      a bit uncomfortable about the unknown.
Most of our fears about dealing with strange people      from doubts about ourselves. We      other people are judging us, thinking us too tall or too short, too this or too that.     , don’t forget that they must be feeling the same way. Try to accept yourself      you are, and try to put the other person at ease. You’ll      feel more comfortable.
Try to act self-confidently      you don’t feel that way      you enter a room full of strangers, such as a new classroom, walk straight, look      at other people and smile. If you see someone you’d like to     , say something. Don’t wait for the other people to      a conversation.
Just meeting someone      doesn’t mean that you will make friends with that person. Friendship is      on mutual(相互的)liking and “give and take”. It takes time and effort to develop. And there are things that keep a new friendship from growing.
