But at home a   38  story is told. Later that day, when I 39  supper in the kitchen, my daughter suddenly stood behind me very   40 . When I turned back, I     41  knocked her down. “Don’t be in my   42   !” I shouted angrily. She walked away with her little heart     43 .On the kitchen floor later, I found some flowers by the door.
That night, while I lay     44  in bed, a voice in my deep heart said, “While 45  with a stranger, you are so polite, but with the children you love, you are so easily _46   .Why are there some flowers by the door? Those are the flowers she brought for you. She    47 them herself, pink, yellow and your favorite blue. She stood quietly in order to give you a    48 , and you never saw the         49  in her eyes.
By this time, I felt very       50  and now my tears began to fall. I moved to this area seven years ago. For years I have had noisy neighbours. Ever since I moved into this flat, I’ve had to put up with noise during the night. I decided I’d had enough and I’ve been looking for a new flat since the beginning of the year. I haven’t found anything till now. Every week I go to the estate agent’s(当地房地产代理人的)office, but it’s the same story. “I might have something by the end of the week” he says, or, “Wait till next week. I think I might have a few flats by then.” I’ve seen a few flats during my search, but I don’t like any of them. One flat I saw has been empty for two years. “It’s got a busy road on one side and a railway on the other!” I said loudly, “I want peace and quiet.” Last week I visited the agent again. “I won’t leave till you show me something,” I said. “I’ve got just the flat for you.” I went to see it and I was frightened. “But it’s next to a cemetery!” I cried. “But you won’t have noisy neighbours,” my agent said. “It’s exactly right for peace and quiet!”

Do you have a dream, something you always see yourself doing? Perhaps you see yourself as a lawyer, businessman, or even a scientist. Whatever it is, don’t let it die.
A dream is a wonderful thing. It can give you hope for your future and encourage you to try when all odds are against you.
However, there are dream killers that want to kill your dream. They may tell you that it is impossible for you, that you are not smart enough or that it’s never been done before. However, many times the biggest dream killer is yourself.
Don’t let fear, doubt or lack of finances prevent you from fulfilling(实现) your dream. Talk back to these killers, “I can and fulfill my dream.” You may have to do this every day. The more often you talk to your heart that you can do it, the more safely your dream will be held within you.
It is very important to take steps towards fulfilling your dream. For me, in order to fulfill my dream of one-day owning my own magazine, I needed to go back to school and finish my college degree. For you, it may be something different. You know deep inside what the voice of your dream calls for. Don’t be afraid and just do it. Try not to let too much time go by. Time is another one of those dream killers.
Think about the words of a song by Yolanda Adams, “Keep the dream alive. Don’t let it die. If something deep inside keeps inspiring you to try, don’t stop. And never give up. Don’t ever give up on you. Sometimes, life can place a stumbling block in your way. But you have to keep the faith.”
When you dream, dream big and never give up. Your dream is just yours. Never let anyone tell you that your dream can’t happen -- it can! Keep seeing yourself do what’s never been done before. As you continue to feed your dream and protect it, not only will you keep it alive, but it will come true.

We may look at the world around us, but somehow we manage not to see it until whatever we’ve become used to suddenly disappears.  36 , for example, the neatly-dressed woman I  37  to see—or look at—on my way to work each morning.
For three years, no matter  38  the weather was like, she was always waiting at the bus stop around 8:00 am. On  39  days, she wore heavy clothes and a pair of woolen gloves. Summertime  40  out neat, belted cotton dresses and a hat pulled low over her sunglasses. 41 , she was an ordinary working woman. Of course, I  42  all this only after she was seen no more. It was then that I realized how  43  I expected to see her each morning. You might say I  44 her.
“Did she have an accident? Something  45 ?” I thought to myself about her  46 . Now that she was gone, I felt I had  47  her. I began to realize that part of our  48  life probably includes such chance meetings with familiar  49 : the milkman you see at dawn, the woman who 50  walks her dog along the street every morning, the twin brothers you see at the library. Such people are  51  markers in our lives. They add weight to our  52  of place and belonging.
Think about it.  53 , while walking to work, we mark where we are by  54  a certain building, why should we not mark where we are when we pass a familiar, though  55 , person?
